Information on harvesting / extraction - The essential oil of lime is extracted by cold compression of fresh lime peel or by steam distillation of the dried peels. The scientific name of lime is Citrus aurantifolia. It consists of compounds such as the alpha-pines, beta-pines, myrcene, limonene, terpinolene, cineole, linalool, borneol, citral, neral acetate and geranyl acetate.
