Product Description – Bergamot's scientific name is Citrus bergamia. Bergamot essential oil is light yellowish-green. It is the most delicate of citrus plants, requiring special soil and climate to thrive. It has the ability to lift moods or provide an energy boost and alleviate stress and anxiety. Bergamot oil boasts powerful antibacterial, pain-relieving, antiseptic, antispasmodic, and calming effects. The bergamot tree can grow up to four meters tall, with star-shaped flowers and smooth leaves, bearing citrus fruits resembling a cross between an orange and grapefruit, but pear-shaped. The fruit ripens from green to yellow. The name Bergamot is taken from the city of Bergamo in Lombardy where the oil was first sold.
