Information on harvesting / extraction - The essential oil of vetiver is obtained by steam distillation of the roots, and the main components are alpha vetivone, benzoic acid, beta vetivone, furfurol, vetiverol, vetiven and vetivenyl vetivenate. Its essential oil is also widely used in the perfumery industry, including body perfumes, room fresheners and coolers, as well as cosmetics, soaps, oils and as a flavoring agent in beverages, sorbets and foods
